So whats been happening in your world babe?
Are things flowing for you?  Do you feel engaged and connected?  Are you leaning into a life you enjoy?  My sincere wish is that you are.  Many people find themselves fighting against the current.  They're tired, uninspired and sad.  Life is not what they want it to be.
Sometimes I find myself in these waters, getting nowhere but frustrated.  When that happens, I turn to some tried and true tools to get myself back into the flow.  I meditate, shift what I'm eating, get physical and get more sleep.  All great practices.  But my favorite go to tool?
Crystals!!!!
Yep, I'm a total rock hound.  What's not to like?  They are beautiful, powerful and natural.  They can be used by anyone of any age to heal in mind, body and spirit.  Why do you think kids fill their pockets with rocks!  They know man, they know.
I have stones that I carry in my pocket (and bra), stones that I meditate with, stones that simply hang out in my space and a whole collection of stones that I use in my healing practice.  All of them serve a purpose and many of them multi-task. They are truly work horses.
So...you may be wondering ' Ruby, how do I pick a crystal? '  Great question!
At the risk of sounding like a total weirdo...they will pick you.  The best way to pick a crystal is to touch it.  Pick it up and feel it.  Allow it's energy to be near you.  Notice how you feel; comforted, happy, sad, neutral.  Often, you will just know because you can't put the stone down again.  Sometimes you know because you can't put it down fast enough! That means it's not for you.  I often have a physical response to crystals.  My hands will buzz or tingle or my body will feel light or heavy.  I picked up a piece of Moldavite and my entire body felt like it was vibrating!  I brought it home : )
So you have a crystal...or two or a bunch ; )  ' How to use them? ' you ask.
In many different ways!  Sit with them, hold them, keep them in your pockets or under your pillow, place them on your body or in your space.  You can even put some in your water (though be cautious of toxic stones and ask someone who knows first)  Just do what feels natural.  You will know.

Good news!!!
I'm introducing a new series of Ruby TV videos to help you out.
Check out my intro vid for all the deets!
My crystal supplier made his annual trip out my way and I have to tell you that I was very curious to see what I would pick out for stones.  I knew that what I was drawn to would guide my path forward.  I was bang on lady!  Last year I purchased lots of smaller stones and many of them were for resale.  This year I picked up almost exclusively larger pieces and tools for use in my healing work.  The crystals are calling me to my purpose.  As a healer I use crystals in my distant and in person healing sessions, in my coaching practice to help clients reconnect with their spiritual and soulful selves and as tools to connect when doing intuitive readings and working with divine spirit.  They are truly magical tools for soulful healing.
These babies are too good to hide though so I've taken pics for you!

17 years ago today, I met my husband.  He also happens to be my best friend...sappy I know but true : )  I can honestly say that he was my first experience of what love really is.  Not just romantic love, but love as a whole.  I very twilight zone concept for me in my life at that time.
I remember it all very well:  Getting ready to go out with my girlfriends, wearing my new mini skirt and what I affectionately referred to as my bitch kicking boots.  I was still an angry person back then and just beginning to separate from the chaos of my family.  We headed out to ladies night at the bar looking to cut loose and dance all night.  I never went to pick up guys...I was the wing girl and much too shy and lacking in confidence to consider picking up fellas.  Something changed that night.  I real shift in reality.  My friends were being...well...bitches (maybe not such a shift) and instead of putting up with them as I usually would, wondering what I had done wrong, I said EF IT!  I came to have fun, and I struck out on my own.  That decision landed me at a table with my now hubbie.  I looked at him and thought 'he's cute, I like him' then proceeded to smile and chat and flirt like a little hussy : )  The rest is history...well actually it's our story!.  Happily married, deeply in love, parents of two boys and a gaggle of pets.  And did I mention that we did everything "wrong"?  You know, sex right away, shacked up right away, doing our own thing right away, young with no money and it didn't matter.  We've been together now for almost as long as I was without him.  Not bad for ladies night at the bar.
Who knows what can happen when you decide to seek your own happiness...even if you don't really know what you are doing.

Spring is in the air and my creative juices are beginning to flow again.  The urge to do, do and do is on the rise so I've been putting pen to paper and flexing my thinking muscles!  I'm busily brainstorming my next three months of blog topics, newsletter content and video themes just for you.  Lovely soul nourishing information, how to do it's (cause knowledge is only helpful if you can use it) and how I've done it's (you are not alone, I've been there so let's connect), all for you.

Why?

Cause I'm utterly driven to heal, help and empower.
It's who I am and what I do... it truly nourishes my soul.
I want you to live your life not just get through it!

Okay, enough with the serious tone for now, what am I cooking up for you?
  • Energy - it's all around you, it is you.  Let's tap into it.  Let's talk energy drains, soul sucking predicaments and what    we can do to stop the leaks and charge back up!
  • Crystals - they are beautiful, powerful gifts from the earth that we can use to improve our lives.  Did I mention beautiful?
  • Meditation - so much more than relaxation.  Let's dive in to this dish!
  • Living Soulfully - what does this really mean?  It means a lot and it will help you be a better: parent, spouse, partner, co-worker, employer, neighbor....everything!
  • Laughter and humor - cause giggles make the world go round...and sometimes they make us wee just a bit but they are truly the good stuff!

So I guess we could break it all down into this:  I will share with you, from my heart, the knowledge and tools that I have. I will show you how to use them and I will support you in your efforts to do so. I will share with you my continued journey so you see it all can be done, you're not alone and we're all human.

Do you have questions for me?  Anything you want to know about crystals, energy/energy healing, meditation, living soulfully, being connected, etc.?  Send your questions my way!  I'd love to create an Ask Ruby section for my upcoming newsletters but for me to do that;

I need your questions!

Comment below with your questions and I'll answer what I can in my next newsletter.  If you're not on my list yet be sure to get there!  You don't want to miss out on this good stuff.  Opt-in above and get started with an introduction to meditation for signing on.

I can't wait to hear from you!

Food for thought.
There has been a common theme lately in many conversations with my clients, friends and even myself.  Yes, sometimes I talk to myself...I consider it an endearing quirk.
I'll be chatting with someone and ask "whatchya been doing?"  The response is often a long busy list of kids, kids activities, community involvement, helping neighbors/friends/family, job overload, home overload and commitments (AKA shit people don't want to do but feel obligated to do).  Along with this response, I see tired faces, unhappy bodies and sometimes quiet, or not so quiet, bitterness and anger, all thinly veiled behind "everything is great" smiles.
I call Bullshit.
You heard me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping others and being part of your community and active kids are usually stay out of trouble kids.  All good stuff.  But, I'm an empath honey.  I 'feel' you, and although I may not know what's going on with you I have a fairly good idea of how you are doing, even if you're in denial about it.  I also hear what's missing from your list, which is why my next question is usually a gentle "What are you doing for you?"
You see luv, we all have this inner well.  It's like a spring of love and compassion.  From it flows inspiration, creativity and self expression.  It fills us up and gives us the energy and resources we need to be ourselves and have a positive affect in our world.  It fills us with love and compassion for ourselves which in turn flows out into the world as love and compassion for the people around us.  It is a beautiful thing.  A cycle of giving and receiving.  It is infinitely abundant and ever flowing...so long as we take care of ourselves.  So long as we receive by caring for ourselves.
If we just take from the well, giving to everyone and doing for everyone (even though these are good things to do), we will run the well dry.  We will burn out, tire out, lose our joy/passion/creativity/way.  We will feel lost or find ourselves questioning 'is this really it?'  We will feel a longing for something...something we can't quite put our fingers on but something that will make us happy again.
That something you are looking for isn't out there anywhere to be found.
It is the well inside you.
To fill it up again you need to give extend some love and compassion to yourself.  Make self care a priority. This isn't a selfish by the way.  I hear you grumbling : )  If you care for yourself, you'll be able to care for others.  Self care is a decidedly unselfish, necessary, practice.  So I ask you...Are you filling your well?
If you feel like your well is maybe not so abundant and you would like some guidance and help in filling it back up or preventing it from going completely dry, I can help.  I would be thrilled to work with you!  Let's make it happen.

Share your best self care practice and tell me how you make yourself a priority.  Comment below, shout it out on Facebook or Tweet me doll.  Let it flow!

I see it's been awhile since I've posted here for you all.  I've been taking a long hard look at my business and myself.  I realized recently that I needed some direction...we all do from time to time.  I recognized that I needed some personal one on one guidance from someone who would understand the spiritual nature of my business and myself.  I found that someone and will share more about my coaching experience in another post (amazing stuff and amazing coach).  The point here is that I sought guidance and have been doing the work that came along with it.  No matter how connected we are we still have inner work to be done and those ever present crazy monsters to contend with.  My inner reflections have lead me back to a familiar monster.  You may know it, it's "I'm not worthy" monster.  Also commonly known as "who do I think I am" "I'm not worthy" or "I've little value" monster.  I've spent some quality time with this critter over the last few days; really getting to know and understand this critter.  Unfortunately I've realized that I no longer have room in my inner or outer space; in my business or personal space, for this particular critter.  It has to go!  I've released "I'm not worthy" and am confidant it will find it own way just fine...with out me : )  Sometimes sharing space just doesn't work out and you have to move on.  You have to change.
So here I am.
Changing.
Check out the video below for all the details then, if this speaks to you and resonates with you comment below.  Reach out to me on Facebook or Twitter.  Like or Tweet if you have these crazy monsters in your space.
Together we will make room for change.

I am amazed at how much I've learned about being online and working with websites and creating in this techie universe!  Out of my desire to share my self and my world with all of you I have created this website and blog.  As part of this I've been working on a newsletter...which has turned into more of a magazine : )  So Being Soulful has been birthed...it's been a long labor but very worthwhile!  I'm finding some of the technical aspects of getting this online magazine out into the world a bit challenging but I am pushing forward anyway.  I have put up subscribe forms here on my blog and the workshops page.  I've also posted subscribe links on Facebook and Twitter which you can find at the top of this page.  Please give these forms and links a try and be prepared to receive a bit of soul to your inbox December 1st!!!!!   You'll also have the option to receive occasional soulful bites and updates on any local stuff I'm doing.  Don't worry...I will not fill your inbox with clutter.  Updates will be every now and again...this lady is too busy to spam : )

I have always been able to help people...even as a kid.  People have always come to me, shared with me, confided in me...often to their own surprise : )  It's not them, it's me.  I bring stuff out of people, I help them to reconnect, dump stuff that isn't helping them anymore and move forward.  I have the words, advice, knowledge, energy and wisdom to share that helps people nourish themselves, look after themselves, re fill their wells so to speak.  What I am not very good at is remembering to do the same for myself!  It's true...I suck at looking after me sometimes.  I am getting better and I choose to be aware of my challenges...but sometimes that lack of self care sneaks up on me and gives me a good kick in the ass.  Which is is right now...I can tell by how tired I feel, the massive headache yesterday, the visitors on my face right now, and the doubt's that are whispering in my ears.  (Don't worry...I'm not listening to them...I'm just aware that they are there and I know why they are visiting)  I suppose that is part of why I am able to help and share with others...I have been there...I have so very much been there.  This means I can relate, I understand, I can listen and I really truly get it.  It also means that from time to time I have to listen to myself, listen compassionately to what my soul is asking for and do what I can to re fill my well.   From time to time I have to remember me cause when I don't I sure get a swift kick and it hurts ; )

Yep...I've been stuck.  I have lots of ideas for all the sparkly shining things I want to create and share with all of you but instead of sharing I've been hiding.  Not just hiding, but procrastinating, over analyzing, fussing with 'other' stuff and just plain old flat out not doing!  It is amazing what all I can find to keep myself busy when I'm trying to please the crazy monsters.  I decided I had to just do something so I recorded a meditation : )  Happy right?  My three minute relaxation meditation took me the better part of a day to create.  Then, I picked it to pieces and instead of sharing it with all of you...I've kept it on my computer where it can't help anyone.  Do you have those monsters?  The I'm not good enough, what if people don't like, etc monsters?  I have many of them and I affectionately refer to them as my crazies.  The problem with crazies is that once you realize they have taken over...you have to figure out how to get your power back.  This is honestly familiar territory : )  I'm not sure if that is good or bad but it does mean I have a great deal of experience in monster hunting.  So you might ask "how do you deal with monsters?"  Well sweety...you go to your room, you open your undies drawer, you dig out your big girl panties and put them on.  These are the most powerful tool you have for hunting crazies.  They give you your power back.  Putting them on means you have realized that something is not right and that something needs to change. Realization and awareness is power.  We all know that the only person who can create change for ourselves is...ourselves.  So we put on our BGP's and we choose to move forward and create the changes we want to create.  We don't lay blame, instead, we take responsibility for ourselves, our lives, our world, our bubble and we begin to make it better.
So what am I doing in my BGP's?  I'm putting my meditation up on my Vid's page for anyone who would like to listen to it and I am beginning "30 Days of Ruby"  with the video below!
What are you doing in your BGP's???
